Do you work with writers outside Atlanta? Yes. Every session is remote. I work with writers all over the world, in English, in every time zone. Atlanta is where the company is based, not where you have to be. All you have to do is book a time on my calendar.
How much does a screenplay consultation cost? Consultations run from $150 to $450, depending on format and whether you want written notes, a live session, or both. Short Film Analysis with a live consult is $150. A one-hour brainstorming consultation is $200. Feature notes without a consult are $375. Feature or documentary analysis with a live consult is $450.
What's the difference between written notes and a live consultation? Notes are my read on your script in writing. A live consultation adds the part notes can't do, which is hearing from you. Your goals, what you intended, the context the work is living in. That's what lets me help you get to the most compelling version of your story and build a plan that fits your actual life.
How long does it take to get my notes? Your notes are ready by the time of your appointment. I work in the window between when you book and when we meet, so you are never waiting on the substance after the session.
What do I actually receive? Written notes, and usually assignments. The assignments are aimed at whatever the script needs next, so you leave with the work, not just the diagnosis.
What formats do you work in? Feature screenplays, television pilots, short films, and documentaries.
Do I need a finished draft before I book? No. The brainstorming consultation and the one-year career strategy session are built for writers who don't have pages yet. Analysis sessions are for writers who do.
What is a Fellowship Session? A Fellowship is an intensive, multi-month commitment for writers who want to move faster in their career. It starts with a bespoke program built around your goals and your lifestyle.
Can I reschedule? Yes. Appointments can be rescheduled up to the day of the appointment.
What is Script From Scratch? Script From Scratch is a screenwriting workbook and a guided course. It walks you step by step through the entire development process and delivers you to the front door of your script.
How much is the course? $249 for lifetime access, or $39.99 a month.
Do I have to buy the workbook separately? The workbook is included with the course. If you want it on its own, the digital download is $24.99 (best for multiple scripts). The hard copy is on Amazon (best if you prefer writing in analog).
Is there anything free? Yes. Spade also has a Youtube and TikTok account, where she gives out free screenwriting, filmmaking and career advice.

Who is Spade Robinson? Spade Robinson is a filmmaker and story consultant, and the owner of Atlanta Film Project. She teaches screenwriting at Belmont University and the University of Arkansas, and has taught at UCLA. She is Screenplay Lab Director for the Athena Film Festival and Film Summit Director for Black Wall Street Nation, where she directs the Writers Room Lab, an intensive mentorship for emerging narrative creators.
What do the ** marks in your glossary mean? Those terms are original to Atlanta Film Project. They are craft language AFP developed teaching writers, and you will not find them in other screenwriting glossaries.
